Keep yourself quiet.

I’ve rolled a stone

over the mouth

of a great black hole

with such a tenderness

that the doves stayed affixed,

shuffling along the circle

as I revolved the tomb head

to remain skyward.

And I’ve done it

with such earnestness

as to fold & crease

time together, ripping myself

backward, rupturing

the inseparable, rustling

those sacred fowl for dinner.
